Tech for People? Who would have thought?
Greetings, dear readers,
I am glad you have stumbled your way down the Substack labyrinth to find my fledgling newsletter. The Channel is the culmination of months of (interrupted) contemplations, switching of domains, and doubt regarding what exactly the newsletter should be about.
While the previous sentence hardly builds confidence in my abilities to provide you with a meaningful experience, I will let my content speak for itself.
Talking about the content that you will find here, the Channel lays intersection of technology, science, and the workforce, and each edition of the newsletter will do in-depth regarding a particular technology and its potential impact on the people in the workplace.
Now, that is highly likely to be you (assuming you are an adult with a corporate job, the chances of which are quite significant considering that currently over 3.5 billion adults hold corporate jobs).
The fact that the Channel is about you (in a sense), I believe you will benefit by subscribing.
Through The Channel, I aim to curate the latest research findings, insights, and trends related to technology's impact on the workplace. From exploring emerging technologies like the Metaverse (might or might not be the topic of the first post) to examining the role of data analytics in HR decision-making (you won’t believe how much importance people analytics hold), The Channel seeks to provide valuable, research-backed content to professionals across various industries.

Saloni Arora | People’s Person, Organizational Psychologist, Research Author
Before we move on, a little bit about myself — I am Saloni Arora, I work in the domains of HR and Organizational Psychology. I bring with me a background in human resources, with about two years of experience in navigating the complexities of the workplace.
My academic journey includes two master's degrees in organizational psychology and human resource development and management. Alongside my HR expertise, I've worked as an Impact Analyst, examining the effects of corporate activities on the environment and society. I have also worked as a public speaking and creative writing trainer and am an avid reader and writer.
I am a published research author, and the fact that there is such a huge gap between academic and industry has always bothered me. Even at the places I have worked, people always seem keen on utilizing their instinct when making decisions for their employees, and HR is rendered to being nothing more than a support function.
Organizational psychology? People don’t even know that such a discipline exists.
It is through the Channel that I wish to bring people into the light (apologies for the terrible pun).
Jokes aside, however, no professional is at the edge of their seats to read the latest journal article about how VR can be used to reduce employee stress, and no corporate employee is keeping tabs on how AI can be used for learning and development initiatives.
Basically, no one has time to keep up with academic research.
But what if there was a platform dedicated to providing you with the latest research in a manner that is not only easy to understand but is actually relevant to you?
While not many people would know of the latest happenings in the tech world and how it is relevant to you (this is the important part), you could be the one who does know.
Now, I feel the explanations should be enough to convince you to subscribe. If not, why don’t you try giving a few articles a read and then decide?
The Channel is free today so no commitments are required at the moment.
For those of you who have been convinced, here’s to using tech for people 🍻
My love,
